Dave Chambers, Specialist Packer

Dave started working in the Post Room at Royal Worcester in 1974. He was responsible for loading casks of china onto container lorries for shipping overseas – an interesting challenge in a road the width of Severn Street. He then moved into the warehouse export area, ‘completing’ orders and was there several years before moving to the Rich Room. In here, Dave was responsible for packing all limited editions and the various series of figurines. Designing and making specialist packaging was a large part of the job, as was delivering and unpacking the cartons, sometimes at the homes of very wealthy clients.
