Roy spent nearly 20 years putting orders together and packing china and porcelain for Royal Worcester. He started in 1984 in the ‘Seconds’ warehouse on the Portland site. After a short stint in the Returns Department in Severn Street, he returned to Portland, and stayed there for several years, picking orders, packing trays and loading vans. After Royal Worcester acquired the former Archdales site at Blackpole, Roy moved there, continuing to pick, pack and work on returns. He continued to work on returns when the company gave up the Archdales warehouse in the 1990s and moved all operations back to Severn Street. Roy took early retirement in 2003.
